This year’s Big Sweet Shootout not only pays tribute to Jay “Big Sweet” Giblin, a dear friend to many in Baton Rouge, but it also continues the mission of raising awareness and funds through the Jay Giblin Memorial Foundation. After a brief pause, the Dream Day Foundation is bringing this cherished event back to our community, and JR Construction is honored to play a role in its return.
Supporting the Dream Day Foundation and St. Jude
The Dream Day Foundation has been making an impact since 1994 by supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Through fundraising, advocacy, and special events, Dream Day helps improve the quality of life for St. Jude patients and their families.
At the heart of their efforts is Fishin’ Galore, an annual outdoor program that takes place on a beautiful property in Clinton, Louisiana. Originally started with a bedside promise to a young St. Jude patient, this event has grown into a cherished gathering, hosting over 800 patients and family members each year. It offers them a much-needed escape into nature, filled with fun activities and unforgettable moments.
